Peoria roads, north and south
Peoria runs from older neighborhoods near Grand Avenue north to Lake Pleasant. The Loop 101 serves its southern half and the Loop 303 its far west and north, while Bell Road, Thunderbird Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway are major arterials.
High-speed arterials and long distances mean serious crashes at intersections, and the roads toward Lake Pleasant carry boat trailers and weekend traffic. Spring training at the Peoria Sports Complex adds seasonal congestion.
Recreation and roadway injuries
Lake Pleasant recreation brings boating and off-road injuries. These claims depend on who was operating the vessel or vehicle and what insurance applies, and some activities involve signed waivers. Bring any paperwork you signed.
For a car crash, get the report number from Peoria Police or DPS, photograph the scene, and see a doctor promptly. Then talk to us before you give a recorded statement.
Long commutes and serious injuries
Peoria’s long, fast arterials mean crashes often happen at higher speeds, and injuries are more serious. When treatment lasts months, we make sure the claim reflects future care and lost earning capacity, not just the bills so far. We never push you to settle before the full extent of your treatment is known.
What the law means for your claim
Arizona’s general deadline for injury claims is two years (A.R.S. § 12-542). If a city, county or state entity is involved, a notice of claim is due within 180 days and the lawsuit within one year (A.R.S. §§ 12-821.01, 12-821). Arizona uses pure comparative fault (A.R.S. § 12-2505), so your recovery is reduced by your share of fault but not eliminated by it.
Lawsuits are filed in the Maricopa County Superior Court, whose main courthouses are on Jefferson Street in downtown Phoenix, a few minutes from our office. Most claims resolve through negotiation, but we prepare each case as though it could be tried.
